At Garage Conversions Wales, we aim to
complete your garage conversion to the highest quality, at
an economical cost and with minimum fuss and disruption. To
get an idea of how this all works, we have detailed a typical
conversion programme for you below:
| 1. |
Position rubbish skip in a
safe and convenient area. |
| 2. |
Boards and polythene sheeting are laid
on the driveway area for protection. |
| 3. |
The garage door is carefully removed. |
| 4. |
The brickwork to either side of front wall
of garage is cut out as necessary. |
| 5. |
The presressed lintel is inserted and a
new brick wall is built to match the existing wall to
the underside of the new window sill height. |
| 6. |
If necessary a vertical damp-proof barrier
will be applied to internal walls. |
| 7. |
A damp proof membrane will be laid on
the floor area. |
| 8. |
A lay kiln dried sand layer will be placed
over this membrane – this will then be adjusted
to levels with lay moisture resistant interlocking (high-density)
flooring boards placed on top. A suspended timber floor
can be fitted upon request – please note that this
will also require venting. |
| 9. |
Internal timber frame walls will be constructed
out of dried timbers and timber supports fixed to the
ceiling as necessary. |
| 10. |
Insulation boarding will be fixed to walls
and ceiling with fix foil backed plasterboards applied
to ceilings and walls. |
| 11. |
Cables for lighting, power and pipe work
for heating will be laid. |
| 12. |
Two coats of plaster skim will be applied
to ceilings and walls. |
| 13. |

(if required) together with radiator/heater. |
